Krav Maga Self Defense

Our Story

Krav Maga has several core principles:

  • Keep it simple: Let concepts guide you. Find and use the simplest techniques that apply to the most situations

  • Use what works best: function over tradition. Use what is most useful to you. As Bruce Lee said, “Absorb what is useful, discard what is useless and add what is specifically your own”

  • Be Aggressive: Aggression and brutality, once developed, can be powerful tools against an attacker

  • Be Aware: In any situation your choices are, at least partially, influenced by your knowledge of your options. Greater awareness allows you to see exits, multiple attackers, weapons, etc.

  • When appropriate, counterattack and/or preemptively attack

  • Improvise when useful: our everyday environments are filled with objects that can be repurposed to fit our needs in a violent encounter. We must develop and maintain our skill for this purpose

  • Be Physically Fit. You must be able to move yourself through you your environment including under and over obstacles. No amount of technical competence can make up for a lack of physical fitness

As Krav Maga continues to spread globally, organizations interpret and develop the practice differently. N-Flux prioritizes modern, innovative approaches to self defense. After receiving his black belt in Krav Maga under the Krav Maga Worldwide organization, N-Flux founder Chris Torres decided to shift affiliations to the Fit To Fight Organization. Fit to Fight’s emphasis on simplicity, efficiency, critical thinking, and sparring aligned with Chris’ desire to evolve his practice and his students’ training.  Chris has since earned his 2nd Degree Black Belt under Fit To Fight. N-Flux is a proud affiliate of the Fit To Fight organization.

What to Expect:

Our Krav Maga program is divided into three basic levels: Krav Maga Foundations, Krav Maga Intermediate, and Krav Maga Advanced.

Krav Maga Self Defense Beginners

Every student starts off in our Krav Maga Foundations course. The course includes 4 primary lessons: basic striking, ground work, wrestling, and the fundamentals of sparring with strikes. Once students develop proficiency with the techniques in those lessons, they can test into the Krav Maga Intermediate program. Krav Maga Foundations tests are offered several times a year or by appointment. Students can expect to be in Krav Maga Foundations for 1-8 months depending on when you join and how often you train on a weekly basis

Krav Maga Self Defense Intermediate

Our Krav Maga Intermediate course introduces self defense scenarios like headlocks, body locks, chokes, and grounded attacks. Krav Maga Intermediate also introduces light situational sparring to practice techniques under pressure. Students in the Krav Maga Intermediate program are encouraged to take No Gi Jiu Jitsu, Boxing Fundamentals, Kickboxing Fundamentals and Urban Ninja to augment their Krav Maga training . Students can expect to be in Krav Maga Intermediate for 2 years or more.

Krav Maga Self Defense Advanced

The Krav Maga Advanced course is reserved for the highest ranked students who have shown technical proficiency with all intermediate techniques and have demonstrated that they are capable, well-rounded fighters and sparring partners. Students in the Krav Maga advanced course learn advanced weapons offense and defense. They practice full MMA sparring at a higher level than our fundamental intermediate course
