About Us
We believe in the inherent dignity of all people and the right to defend that dignity when challenged.
The N-Flux Community Fund provides free self defense training to marginalized communities. We focus on populations disproportionately impacted by violence: LGBT people, sex workers, and survivors of domestic and sexual violence, among others. We run an after school program for at-risk youth to fuel their confidence, discipline, and self efficacy.
We collaborate with community-based non profit partners to connect with these communities and ensure our trainings are tailored to the needs of each group we serve.
Our instructors are trauma-informed, certified self defense professionals:
Chris Torres is the owner and master trainer at N-Flux. Chris has 14 years experience teaching martial arts and has taught hundreds of students over the course of his career. He earned his Krav Maga black belt in 2005 and his double black belt in the Fit to Fight Defensive Options system in 2017. Chris also has a purple belt in 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu. Chris studied Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, boxing, and other combat sports in an effort to become more well-rounded in the field and became the 2011 World Kickboxing Association Lightweight Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) World Champion. Chris views fitness as a necessary component for thriving in your environment and strives to create atmospheres that encourage perpetual development.
Colleen Daly is a Fit to Fight Defensive Options Black Belt and a 10th Planet Purple Belt. She competes regularly in kickboxing and Jiu Jitsu. She is a Finishers Open Champion at the Expert Level and an ONNIT World Open Champion at the Expert Level. Colleen is the founder and director of Guerrera, the Feminist Fight Club and is passionate about helping women and femmes feel strong, safe, and confident in their bodies. Prior to working at N-Flux, Colleen worked in sexual violence prevention and response.
Get Involved
For Donors
Our work is made possible through the support of generous donors. All donations are appreciated and used to run daily self defense classes for LGBT and underserved youth, put on workshops for survivors of sexual and domestic violence, train sex workers in self defense techniques, and reach out to other populations that might benefit from our trainings. We compensate our instructors and a professional in each field to be present at the trainings.
For Non Profit Partners

If you are interested in putting on a training for your clients or becoming involved in serving as a liaison for those communities, please fill out the form below, and we will reach out between 24-48 hours.
